This course is for children who have reached their third birthday and are ready to attend class without their parent in the water with them. We recommend children are 2 years of age. This program is subject to immediate cancellation if any order or advisory by a federal, state or local official would preclude Pima County’s ability to offer this program, such as orders and advisories intended to reduce the spread of the COVID-19 virus. Registration opens on May 16th, 2023 at 6am. Should an opening occur before the registration deadline, the spot will be made available online on a first come first serve basis. Once the class has reached capacity, registration will be closed. Note: Each child's swimming ability will be assessed on the first day of class of each session and then placed into a stage that will best benefit the child. This program focuses on the fundamentals of learning to swim and safety around water.
In groups of 6 or less per instructor, children will be taught a wide variety of swimming skills depending on which stage they are assigned after the skill assessment on the first day of class. Group swimming lessons for children ages 3 1/2 and up who can participate without parental presence.
